About the Eco Adventure Travel Blog

This blog was created, and is managed, by Robert Miller.  I was lucky enough to develop a deep love of travel, and adventure, from a young age, when I grew up traveling with my parents to Greece, Spain, Guatemala, Iran, Germany, The Netherlands, and many domestic locations all over the USA.  I was inspired to write and create this blog by the book “The Four Hour Workweek”, by Tim Ferriss.

In the past 20 years, I have been fortunate to experience the following, in various places around the world:

  • Assisting in the archeological excavation of the ancient city of Akrotiri, in Santorini (Thira), Greece;
  • Scuba Diving in Turks and Caicos, in the Carribean;
  • Ice Climbing on a Glacier in Alaska;
  • Rock Climbing in Buena Vista, Colorado, USA;
  • Scuba Diving and Snorkeling with Sea Turtles in Maui, Hawaii, USA;
  • Climbing and examining lava ejecta at the Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica;
  • White Water Rafting in Rogue River, Oregon;
  • ATV Exploring in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico;
  • Helicopter Flights in an Ancient Volcano Lava Tube in Kauaii, Hawaii, USA;
  • Climbing to explore an ancient mountain top temple and church in Aegina, Greece;
  • Dogsledding, in Alaska, USA;
  • Horseback riding in Quepos, and exploring natural primates and mammals in Manuel Antonio, in Costa Rica;
  • Climbing the rooftop of an ancient Mosque in Isfahan, Iran;

I love to learn more about sustainable travel, and encourage adventure travel that is eco-friendly and educational, which is why I continue to share information over eight years through this blog.  You can email me at rmillerlaw at gmail dot com, and I look forward to your comments anytime.

  1. Hi Robert, We really enjoyed the article. I wanted to let you know about two other organizations that are non-profit in our state who hold conferences and workshops on Eco-tourism related topics. They are the South Carolina Nature Based Tourism Association which can be found at http://www.SCNatureAdventures.com
    Also the South Carolina Paddlesports Industry Association which can be found at http://www.PaddleSouthCarolina.org I am President of the latter, SCPIA and Vice President of the SCNBTA.
    Your writing was excellent! Very clear, concise and reader friendly, yet informative.
    We will pass this on to members and thank you.
